Very comfortable guest house with great amenities. Our room had views on the lake. The host was very nice and attentive. Parking was very easy in front of the house. Breakfast was perfect with cereal, teas, Jura coffee machine and hot traditional breakfast upon request. The house also has a room with board games.
This place is wonderful. The rooms are spacious. The owners are helpful and accommodating. They are familiar with the area and provide lots of great recommendations of places to visit. The included made to order breakfast is wonderful and so are the upon request dinner items. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit the Highlands of Scottland, including the Isle of Mull, which is a short ferry ride away.

Cal Mac let us down terribly - Ferry unable to sail - but very poor communication from the company, and ultimately we were left high and dry in Oban, thinking we might have to spend the night in our car. Instead we drove to Lochaline and enjoyed a warm welcome at the Lochaline Hotel prior to taking the reliable Lochaline-Fishnish ferry the next day. The hostess was very kind and welcoming; the room fresh, clean. comfortable and cosy; the bathroom huge, fabulous shower and lots of lovely fresh towels. We had a lovely night’s sleep in a very comfortable bed. The views from the hotel are gorgeous and we enjoyed a marvellous breakfast ( full Scottish for hubby with toast, and granola, fruit, home-made compote and pastries for me, unlimited teas and coffees, and fabulous views down past Ardtornish Castle). All the angst from CalMac was dissipated and the Fishnish ferry got us to Mull with no dramas! Sometimes things happen for a reason and we are so pleased that in the face of an awful CalMac experience we discovered this little of a hotel!
Everything about this little family owned/run hotel is perfect. The bed is better than my own at home, the towels are soft and fluffy. Shalee and Peter the owners are so wonderful, nothing was a problem. And they would do anything to make you comfortable and feel at home. Even to cooking our dinner and breakfast. I HIGHLY recommend staying here. The location is just perfect , I just wish we had more than one night there.
Amazing. We have been going on a vacation to Scotland for many years and I must say, that Lochaline Hotel is the best and we return there every year. Perfect location, super rooms with nice bathrooms, great people and large and fresh breakfasts and dinners.
We stayed here for the night before heading to Mull for the rally. The rooms were impeccable and the views were gorgeous our room had a view out to sea and we watching the ferry go back and forth to Mull. Thank you so much for an amazing stay.
Had a lovely stay here for long weekend in August 2024. The owners are lovely, very friendly and helpful. I had a peaceful and relaxing time and enjoyed some lovely walks with my dog. The hotel is very dog friendly (we always bring our own blankets). The bed was SO comfy, and a nice big tv to watch in the room after walking in the rain. The bathroom was lovely, luxurious shower and hot bath. The view from the bedroom was amazing, Dog loved it too. There is a wee beach you can access from the hotel when the tide is out. I saw porpoises from the hotel - amazing! I highly recommend and would visit again. Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to visit soon.
